THE occurrence, on August 18th, 1922, of the Hundredth Anniversary of the Consecration of S. Paul’s Church not unnaturally suggested the making of a brief record of matters connected with the Church and Parish.

Hence this unpretentious little book, which does not claim to be a History of Ramsey, though something of the story of the past will he found in its pages. In the not very likely event of any profits ever accruing from it, they will be devoted to the Parish Church Renovation Fund.

I am indebted to my father, Rev. S. N. Harrison, B.A., J.P. , Canon of S. Columba, for much information; and to the Venerable John Kewley, M.A., Rector of Andreas, and Archdeacon of Man, for various suggestions and invaluable help in several ways. I have also to thank Rev. J. H. Cain, Rector of Bride, for the photograph of Rev. A. Holmes; Mr T. H. Midwood for taking the photographs for the plates; and the Proprietors of the "Ramsey Courier" for their co-operation.

M.W. HARRISON.

Conversion of S. Paul, 1923.

An old saying in the Island.

"A gleam of sunshine on St. Paul’s Day means good crops."
