BRIDE

IS a small parish in the Sheading of Ayre, occupying the most northern portion of the island, and extending from the Point of Ayre on the north to Lezayre, on the south and eastward from
Andreas to the sea, with an area of about 8½ miles ; its length from ‘ east to west is 2½ miles, and from north to south 3½ miles. It is a low lying district, with a gentle undulation towards the sea. The Church of St. Bridget is the parish church, an ancient structure capable of accommodating 250 of a congregation. The living is a rectory, held by the Rev. E. W. Kissack. There are also houses of worship for Wesleyans and Primitive Methodists.
