The Revd. Archd. Holmes, Chaplain and Schoolmaster, has at present fourteen Scholars. It is stated that this School in Ramsey was endowed with a stipend of ten pounds a year, payable by Cholmondeley, of Vale Royal, in Cheshire, the last payment of which was made through Mr. Drinkwater, of Liverpool, to the Revd. Henry Maddrell, in the year 1802.

In a list of papers in the Episcopal Registry, there is the following memorandum;–" Several letters and other papers touching the £10 per annum paid to Ramsey School by Mr. Cholmondeley, of Vale Royal." These papers were lately given by Mr. Brown, the Regr. to the Lord Bishop, his Lordship intending to make inquiry into the nature of the endowment, and to ascertain why the stipend has been withheld.

There are two schools in Ramsey, supported by annual voluntary subscriptions, where 46 boys and 68 girls are taught according to Dr. Bell's system of education.
