17 - Sinking of the s. s. Peveril, after collison with the s.s. Monarch.
24 - Horrible affair at Douglas : Tragic death of a Leeds lady : Two car drivers arrested : One committed for murder, but acquitted by jury on October 20.

OCTOBER

15 - Death of Deemster Gil .
21 - Terrible boating disaster at Port. Erin : Two visitors and two fishermen drowned : A gallant diver also loses his life.
