Know all men by these presents that I John Bell of Ballaquayle in the parish of KK Malew – with the consent of my wife Jane Bell als Quirk diverse good Causes and Considerations us hereunto moving, but more especially for and in consideration of the Sum of Twenty two pounds ten Shillings Currency of this Isle to us in – [obscured by fold] from the hands of John Kinley of of sd Parish have given granted, bargained passed- over & Sold & do by these presents give, grant, bargain – Passover and for ever absolutely ^Sell^ from us our heirs, Excrs admrs & assignes, unto him the sd John Kinley his heirs Excrs admrs and assignes, all our right interest & Tytle in and unto a Certain parcel of land part of the estate of Ballaquayle aforesd known by the names of the Close Moar, Boley ne crotta beg & Crott Lhoure, adjoining as follows, vizs / Close Moar to sd Ballaquayle flat on the west & to John Bridson;s rent on the South – Boaley ne Crotta beg [line crossed out] & the Crott Lhoure to the high road on the east & the sd Crott Lhoure to knockdoo meadow on the West the sd parcel of land being of Such Yearly Lords rent as the Setting Quest Shall Settle or proportion thereon. To Have & to Hold unto him the sd John Kinley his heirs Excrs admrs and assignes the premises before mentioned with all ways Waters, Watercourses, easements liberties, profits and – advantages to the Same belonging or in any wise – appertaining, without let, Stop, hindrance or Molestation to be made by us the sd John Bell or Jane my Wife or either of us our heirs Excrs admrs or assignes or person Claiming right from by or under us. And I the sd – John Bell & Jane my Wife do hereby bind & oblige our [end of page] our Selves our heirs, Excrs admrs and assignes to awarrant uphold, & maintain the premises before mentioned unto him the sd John Kinley his heirs, Excrs admrs & assignes against the pretence Challenge or demand of any manner of person or persons whatsoever claiming right from by or under us, And also to do perform & fulfill any – further Act or Acts thing or things that in law – may be found necessary to be done for the better – Strengthning or Sure making hereof unto him the sd John Kinley his heirs Excrs admrs & assignes – For the true & faithfull performance hereof and of all and – Singular the Covenants & conditions herein Contained I the sd John Bell & Jane my Wife do bind & oblige our Selves our heirs Excrs admrs & assignes in the penalty & forfei= =ture of Sixty pounds to be paid & levied according to law as Witness our Marks to our Names this 25th of February 1748/9 Note, before Signing hereof it is agreed upon that this Sale is to commence from the first of Novr last past – as Witness our Marks to our Name the date aforesd – Signed & delivered in John Bell my Mrk X presence of Thos Harrison Charles Mylrea 27th June 1749 John Bell Acknowledged the within and above Bill of Sale to be his Voluntary Act and Deed and also to be Satisfied and paid the full consideration Money therein Mentioned this Before me Jon Taubman At an Abbey Court holden at Ballasalla of ye 13th Oct 1749 The within Bill of Sale being acknowledged before the Deemster and now openly published in Court and no material [end of page] objection offered against it is therefore allowed of and [additional wording perpendicular Confirmed according to Law reservcind to that on the left, see below] all rights Dan Mylrea Jon Quayle Wm Christian We the Setting Quest of KK Mallew being Con =veined by authority to settle a Rent & Customes on the parcel within mentioned we haveing viewed the same and Do settle and fixt five – pence and half apenney rent, half a Goos & - half a hen Customes & this we give for our – return as witness our names & mark this 6th of Oct. 1749 Hen: Clague my X Tho: Cain Nicho Harrison Wm Taggart
