This Indenture made the twentyfifth day of February One Thousand eight hundred and eighteen Between John Skillicorn of the Parish of Lonan and Ann his wife of the one part and Jane Hartley alias Skillicorn and Margaret Skillicorn of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Skillicorn for divers good causes and considerations and for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings British to him paid by the said Jane Hartley alias Skillicorn and Margaret Skillicorn the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold transferred and made over and by these presents doth grant bargain sell transfer and make over unto the said Jane Hartley alias Skillicorn and Margaret Skillicorn their Heirs and Assigns all and singular the whole of the estate of Skinscoe situate in the Parish of Lonan and all his right title and Interest of in and to the same which said estate of Skinscoe was settled upon the said John Skillicorn by James Skillicorn of the Parish of Lonan by Deed bearing date the twenty eighth day of August One Thousand eight hundred and twelve and to be possessed by the said John Skillicorn as in the said Deed mentioned To have and To hold unto the said Jane Hartley and Margaret Skillicorn and their Heirs and Assigns the said Premises with all ways watercourses right members and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining for ever to and for the several uses interests and purposes herein after mentioned that is to say to and for the use and behoof of the said John Skillicorn for and during the term of his natural life and, immediately from and after the decease of the said John Skillicorn to and for the use and behoof of James Skillicorn the eldest son of the said John Skillicorn and his Heirs and Assigns for ever And the said John Skillicorn doth covenant and engage to awarrant maintain and defend the said Estate and Premises and every part thereof unto the said Jane Hartley and Margaret Skillicorn and their Heirs and Assigns for the purposes herein before mentioned from and against the claim challenge or demand of all and every person and persons whomsoever And for the true and faithful performace hereof the said John Skillicorn doth bind and oblige himself his Heirs Exers and Admors under penalty of Four Thousand Pounds British to be levied and paid according to Law In Witness whereof the parties have hereunto Subscribed their names the day and year first above written Signed & delivered John Skillicorn In presence of Jane Hartley James Fell Margt Skillicorn Joseph Skillicorn At Douglas the 20 Feby 1818 John Skillicorn one of the executing parties acknowledge the foregoing Deed to be his proper act and Deed Before me JM (?) Hutchen At Douglas 11th January 1819 Jane Hartley one of the executing parties to the foregoing Deed of Sale acknowledged the same to be her proper act and deed and Joseph Skillicorn one of the subscribing witnesses made oath that the said Deed of Sale was duly executed by Margaret Skillicorn in his presence and in presence of James Fell the other witness Before me JM Hutchen At a Court Baron holden at Douglas the 15th day of April 1820 The before written deed having been acknowleged and proved before a High Bailiff and now openly published in court and no objection offered against it the same is therefore ordered to be Recorded J Quirk Seneschal
