Also with Robert Nelson in the 1851 census is Mary Ann Gelling age 14. IGI shows Mary Ann Corlett christened 1836 to Richard Gelling and Mary Corlett.

Similarly Robert Corlett is christened 1847 to Mary Corlett.

It was not uncommon to christen a child with the mothers name and adopt the fathers name.
