I too have the Bankes name in my family history.

My Gr x 3 grandfather was Richard Bankes born 1828 in Marley, Cheshire. His daughter Elizabeth b. 1851 in Liverpool married William Kewley b. 1846, son of Thomas b. 1814 in Braddan I.O.M.

I can't see any apparent connection with your family, but let me know if you discover anything.
