The family in Chorlton in 1841 is mine. I am trying to trace where Matthew Cowen Snr was born. I have no Marriage Cert for him & Ann but I have his Death Cert. in Manchester in 1853 age 70 & as you can see from the 1841 Census he was not born in Lancashire. If his age is correct he would have been born circ 1783. I would like to think he was the Matthew born 1783 IOM but I have not been able to prove it .
I have him in Liverpool in 1812 & 1814 then he went to Manchester.
Can anyone help?
Also the Thomas Cowen born in 1814 in Liverpool is my gggrandfather.
