Thanks Pat for the suggestion. My Ancestor is Matthew Cowen/Cowin. I have tried googling the name with limited success. From children's birth records I have him in Liverpool in 1812 & 1814 in Baptist St. I have also found a Matthew Cowin in War of 1812 Service Records in Illinois & Census of 1820 Madison County. Could this be the Father of my Matthew I wonder? Any suggestions?
