Thank you Frances. Lots to follow up on here. The evolution of my name (from Caistil to Castle) was uneven according to the dates set out in Moore. Castell was recorded in Fyvie as early as 1660, with consequent changes (in my family) more or less as Moore has set out.
Now I must visit the Isle of Man!
