I realize your note is over 3 years old, but I just came across it. I suspect that the owners of York House in 1945 were the same family who owned it in 1954 when I first went. Their name was Greenwood and when the parents died, their daughter, Dorothy, took it over. I'm hoping to go back next year and was checking to see if it was still there.
