Hi Ken
If you put John Cain / Jane no surname into Familysearch over a wide time range around the 1745 you mention, there were surprisingly few couples having children----just Jane Lace in the 1730s and 1740s, Jane Cowin in the 1750s and 1760s, and Jane Lewin in the 1760s. But there was a John Cain/Jane Bridson couple having children in Malew in the 1760s and 1770s (patron submission marriage 4 Nov 1766 Malew.) Is this far too late for your couple, or could it have been at the late end of Jane Bridson's childbearing years ?
