The birth certificates of two daughters, born 6 January 1906 and 17 November 1908, both registered in Douglas, show the “Informant” to be the mother. Would this indicate the father was not in attendance at their respective births, ie out of the country? Was it usual/customary for the father to be the informant, or did it matter?
Thank you for any help.
