It was more information and help that I could have wished for on the Brew family - many many thanks. Just need to find the right family now for John Thomas Cain(e). His father was Philip Cain on their wedding certificate, residing Barrack Street, Douglas in Oct 1886 when the wedding took place at Kirk Braddan. John Thomas' son Thomas Arthur was born July 1887 and when moving to Barrow the name had the e added - thought it would be easy now that I had seen the 1911 census but still nothing - will keep at it.
