you will not get any additional information from the hard pressed Minister (and almost certainly not from the captain of the Parish) - Bride Parish registers of that period are held in the Manx Museum - the official copy, available on Mormon microfilm, is in my opinion for the years I have checked an excellent transcription though some headings have misled the IGI transcribers - I have not checked the 1840's however but would expect it to be equally good.
