Bob The position of Captain of a Parish could be said to be an honorary political one nowadays not requiring armed men to be
rounded up for defence etc. & nothing to do with church membership.The present post holder may be a member of the
Church of England however.The last clergman retired recently
& has been replaced for the time being by the Vicar of Maughold
who is not working at his church at present.I very much hope
no church has precious records kept in a damp,cold church only
heated for Sunday service &left open for visitors.All such
registers should be stored in secure ,humidity controlled archives in Government care.
