hi mary
thanks very much for that information it's really interesting.
my g grandfather went to michaelmass fair on the night of his death his home was 23 north quay douglas in 1939.
so i presume he would have passed the gas works on his way home?
i am just trying to fathom out how he would have ended up drowning.
shouts of help where heard from the harbour in the vicinity of the government lairs south quay. is there or would there have been a pub in that area at the time?
sorry if i seem a bit morbid.
