Hi John

I just looked up the birth entry in the BMD index for John Robert Wattleworth.

He was born in the Apr-May-June quarter of 1853, county Cheshire, district Wirral.

Unfortunately, the actual entry is very hard to decipher, but it looks like "volume 8a, page 407"

So you could send off for a copy of the birth certificate which would confirm ( or refute ) that his parents were John Wattleworth and Catherine Curphey.

Since there's a question mark over the volume and page details owing to the faded ink, you could also look up the entries for one or more of John Robert's siblings and order a copy of one where the writing is clear.
