Doug, are these the William and Jane you are looking for? The dates are nowhere near what you wrote, but if this is the same couple who married in 1877 William appears to have children from an earlier marriage (although bachelor in 1877 marriage), or they had children pre-marriage. Son William could be in the IGI as William James Quayle bapt 03 OCT 1869 Andreas son of William Quayle & Jane "KINACH".
The IGI also has a Jessie aged 4 as bapt 6 JAN 1878 Maughold and "Death: 06 MAR 1881" which was before the census was taken! So she can't be the one with the above couple in 1881.
The Maughold register has the burial of this Jessie QUAYLE aged 3 yrs as from Douglas.
Jessie daur of William Quayle & Jane Kermeen bapt Maughold Parish Church 6 Jan 1878.
The IGI has Elizabeth Jane Leah Quayle Birth: 11 JAN 1880 Douglas Father: William Henry Quayle Mother: Jane Kerneen Quayle, which says it is an extracted record but has no source (extracted from where?).
All very confusing.
Doug, what were her death cert details "died on 4 May 1936"?
Sue
