Informant Henry ( signed with X mark) Clague, Father, Bushmans Reef, Currajong.
I am pretty sure there were more children or Mary had a few out of wedlock! on Mary Death cert it says children of marriage are: Kate, William, Mary J, & 2 females deceased."
Many thanks for this. I asked about Douglas just in case it didn't include Isle of Man, but it certainly looks as though Henry was Manx.
The Henry CLEGG arriving on the 'Abyssinian' in 1859 was aged 25, which isn't too bad a match. What was the age of the wrong Henry on the death cert., and can he be excluded as the Henry on the 'Abyssinian'?
There is still that Harry Clegg death as a possible one to be yours, with parents James & Sarah, but those names don't fit bapts in the IoM.
Isle of Man records don't have an obvious Henry Clague bapt in Douglas/Braddan (there are two b.1830/31) plus the one Frances gave you who is the closest in age.
Re. the NSW records, there is this death in 1873 in Forbes: 4124/1873 CLEGG ELIZA J (no father given) with mother MARY.
