LYNCHEY FAMILY

In my LYNCHEY search Frances has pointed to a Charles and Elizabeth LYNCHEY lodging with a family named COLLINS in Castletown in the 1841 census.

Charles and Elizabeth are recorded in Castletown in the 1851 census

A Charles LYNCHEY is recorded in the 1861 census at Castletown along with a Sarah aged 30 and a child Jane aged 6. Was he widowed and remarried?

Later still in the 1881 census a Charles LYNCHEY is recorded at Douglas in the “House of Industry” which I imagine is a workhouse for the destitute.

There are possible Sarahs and Janes named LYNCH (which is how they were sometimes recorded) in the 1871 census

Does anyone have any information possibly connecting Charles as the child Sarah, my convictGGG grandmother could not take with her? He would have been 19 when she came to Australia.

Cheers
