Re: Cubbon
In Response To: Re: Cubbon ()

Just a little more I have found today. In 1881 a Margaret Cubbon widow and described as Aunt was living at Ballacorey with Catherine Casement (nee Creer - Robert Cubbon and Margaret Radcliffes granddaughter) and family. I believe this to be a Margaret nee Kerruish born 1803 Maughold who married William Cubbon 20/10/1827. In 1841 William was a shoemaker aged 40 and they had a daughter Margaret A born 1838 with them (another daughter Isabella born 1832 was with John Kerruish Farmer aged 82, her Grandfather) another daughter Esther born 1842 I havent been able to find any details on, nor anything else on Isabella after the 1841 Census. Daughter Margaret A Cubbon married a Martin and went to live in Wales.
Thought I would be able to find a connection between this William Cubbon who was born c1801 but cant find a baptism for him either! If Margaret was described as Aunt this means William may have been the brother of Esther Creer nee Cubbon (who married Edward Creer) and the son of Robert Cubbon and Margaret nee Radcliffe. I had thought Esther was an only child.
Liz has kindly agreed to obtain a copy of Margaret Cubbon nee Radcliffes Will and hopefully this will shed some light onto all the connections. (will send transcribed Will to Brian).
Cant see this helping with Robert Cubbons or maybe not even Elizas parents though so still looking for some help if anyone can!
thanks
Sandra
