Re: SKILLICORN
In Response To: Re: SKILLICORN ()

I know how frustrated you are! One of my husband's Skillicorn ancestors dropped from heaven into Kk German, with no apparent parents whatsoever. I have looked for him off and on for twenty years...

As to Philip, some thoughts:

1. How do you know he was born in Kk Michael? Does the marriage record say he was from there?

2. Since, according to his will, he owned land at Kk Michael, you might try looking at the land records, to see how he acquired the land. (If he inherited it, you're in luck!) Too bad the will doesn't give the name of the parcel of land he owned.

3. You might try looking at other Kk Michael wills around the time between his birth and death, and see if there is a mention of him as a child or grandchild.

Oops! Just looked at Brian Lawson's website

The only will I see is that of Ann Skillicorn, 1799, A54 LDS film 0106233.

It would have been nice if there were more, but I would certainly take a look at Ann's.

4. Keep tracking the chilcren of Philip Skillicorn and Margaret Crow. One of their descendants might have had more luck than you in going back in time.

Good luck!
