May I suggest that if anyone wants to guarantee a sight of 'the old place' when they get to Mannin's shores, they should send an e-mail to the Planning Department, and indicate that they oppose the concept of replacing traditional farmhouses by large modern dwellings for individuals or couples whose tax is capped at £100,000 per annum or £200,000 p.a. for a couple. (Top Tax rate is 18 or 19 %.) The Treasury suggests that this is a good way of providing nice houses for these new Manx people.
