Sue Pedersen:
I have read with interest your notes on John Kissag on line at Kissack Genealogy and your rejection that John Kermeen was the illegitimate son of Ann Kermeen als Christian.
I believe you are correct in your statement about John Kissag who is mentioned as grandson in Ewan Christian's will.
However, in reading through Frances Coakley's will summaries for Maughold I came across the following:
1753-1 A 21 KIRMEEN Ann CHRISTIAN d 6 feb 1753;gdau margt stole (d/o thos);son-i-law thos corkill h/o dau ellinor;natural [illeg] son john kermeen;dau joney, margt (exex);son wm (heir);margt is also exec to her fa wm.
I have not yet read the will but intend to order it from the LDS in the next few weeks. It seems to indicate the possibilty that the Ann Christian who was named in the William Kissack case was the above Ann Kermeen als Christian. Any thoughts?
ps. I have just finished transcribing the admin of John Kermeen's will of 1769 and will send it on to Brian Lawson to put on line.
