Re: Richard Corrin - for Margery Corrin

Hello Jo, Thank you for the list of Richard CORRIN possibles, now noted. A cousin had previously mentioned the Thomas Corrin-Margaret Cowell combination, but to my research so far, they don't fit with the subsequent ancestors. However, it may come to pass that I am mistaken.

Believe it or not, I also have in my Tree, Richard born 1794, (joiner) of Malew as my ancestor - but marrying Elizabeth STEPHEN on 19 Feb 1821 Malew!! He appears to be the only Richard CORRIN married to an Elizabeth in the 1841 Census for Castletown, (as per reply from John Lawson below) and as I mentioned, there were (12) on the Ancestry list, but not the right ones for me. His son (I believe) Richard George CORRIN, born 23 Oct 1821 also shows on that census in the Cannell household - aged 20 - with amongst others, his future wife Mary Kewley.
Richard Corrin & Elizabeth Stephen also had a son JAMES CORRIN (c) 9 June 1833 Castletown.

A quick look in the IGI, I see your Richard marrying Christian SCHOFIELD 12 Dec 1813 and son JAMES (c) 9 Feb 1817. This would also be your JAMES (63) in the 1881 census, master painter, 18 Malew Street with wife Christian (66) and children James, Catherine, & Frances?

I have been very focused the past few years searching Wills, marriage and burial lists, parish records and census trying hard to tie in all the dates to make sense of it all, but with such a common name in the same parish and the first names repeated constantly, it's not easy is it?

Just to revert back to "our" William CORRIN and Christian KERMOD(E), I have a copy of William's mother's Will. She was Elizabeth CLAGUE (b) 1734, married to Thomas STOLE 1750, then married (you guessed it!) to Richard CORRIN in 1757 and she died in 1764, aged just 30. Her first son was Flexney STOLE and second son, William CORRIN. It's an interesting document and if you had an address or PO Box number to give me, I could mail you a copy.

Best Wishes,
Marjery Corrin
