Right, see what you mean! It's possible then that Gladys worked for the same family, but in Ramsey, though my Mum seemed fairly sure Gladys worked for the Corletts, in a house on the hill overlooking Mooragh Park (I went to the house as a child) Having been brought up all my life with these Starkey relatives, I'm now discovering that I have no Starkey blood at all...Jessie was the illegitimate daughter of Sarah Heaney ( I would LOVE to trace backwards from Sarah, but have found nothing except a baptism date of 6/8/1865 - with the spelling HAINEY) Sarah went on to marry Thomas Henry Starkey, Jessie was still residing there (11 Church St, Ramsey) with her mother and step-father when James was born, and somehow later decided that Starkey was now the family name, though nothing was ever done 'officially' about this. As I have no idea of the paternity of either Sarah, Jessie, Winnie or Laura, I guess it's entirely possible there WAS Starkey blood there, but I'd rather not consider how that might have come about!
