The Ellis Island Records has Nellie arriving 1911 at New York. She gave her leaving address as 11 Tabor Street, Seacombe, Wirral, Cheshire, the home of Mrs Bain, her cousin.

Nellie appears to be travelling with Joseph C. Bain her cousin's husband, both heading for Michigan.
