EST(H)ER SHIMMIN 1794 - have I got the right one?

Hi - Has anyone else been researching this branch of the Shimmin family and made the link to the Ronan clan?

In the will of Marjery Ronan (sp Rownan) (nee Hutchin) in 1793/4 Kirk Rushen:

ESTHER SHIMMIN - Niece is crossed out and replaced with - grand-daughter. As she leaves her clothes and shoes to Esther, get the impression Esther is adult at time of will.

Only one daughter Molley (?Mary) Rownan is mentioned but is called by her maiden name - although Mary Ronan was married by then to John Shimmin. I can find no records on IGI or Lawsons for Molly Ronan or another daughter. Had assumed Esther was daughter of Molly.

Marjery leaves something to Esther’s 2 un-named brothers. John and Mary Shimmin had 2 sons: Thomas chr 7/12/1788 and John chr 1786 K.R.

Lawsons: Death: SHIMMIN, Mary Ronan Rus 25 Feb 1823 This proves Mary Ronan married a Shimmin. Is this Molly?

The only Esther coming up on IGI but wrong mother:

ESTHER SHIMMIN Christening: 06 AUG 1786 Kirk Rushen
Father: JNO SHIMMIN Mother: CATH GELL

[Don’t think John married Cath and then Mary as he and Mary had a son chr in 1786, the same year as the above birth of Esther]

Then right mother but christened 5 years after the will so unlikely to be this child:

SHIMMIN Female Christening: 03 JUN 1798 Kirk Rushen
Father: JOHN SHIMMIN Mother: MARY RAUNAN

In the will, Henry Corkish is mentioned re pledges for payment of debts/legacies.

Esther Shimmin marries Christopher Corkish and all their children are on IGI from 1806 to 1829. Christopher Corkish is chr 1777 to parents Henry Corkish and Marjery Bell (IGI)

Lawsons: No Esther Shimmin in burials/wills Kirk Rushen.

Please do not go to too much trouble on this one – it is a side branch of the main tree. But if someone has already worked out the links, will be glad to hear from you. Liz
