I couldn't find father John Caley in 1851, but found the others which explains why.
Still in Port e Vullyn, Maughold:

I was using transcripts for the 1841 and 1861 censuses and think the "tailor" might have been mistranscribed.

Maughold burials have John CALEY aged 67 Port y Vullin, Maughold buried Jun 30 1872.

So two very different ages for him. In 1871 he was aged 66, which agrees with the burial date. Still in Port e Vullan, retired mariner, living on his own.

This looks like John Ned Caley bapt 24 Feb.1805 Maughold, son of one of the earlier John Caley/Isabella Corkill couples!
