Just to confuse things a bit more - people didn't always give their correct ages on their marriage certs. My grandparents' families were against them marrying because (among other things) they were about 10 years different in age. But on their certificate he's brought his age down and she brought hers up - also made herself over 21, which she wasn't - so that the gap didn't look so big.
