I've looked on Ancestry 1901 for Yates, Yate, and Yeats, either born or resident in IOM and I can't see a Robert either, assuming that's who you're after. Either there's a serious mistranscription, that would only be picked up if we knew other identifying information such as age, place of birth, occupation, etc, or they're not there! Did the certificate come/help? Are they definitely Yates? Sorry, I haven't checked back in the Archive for your thread, but thought there was some mention of Tate before. Or could they have emigrated?
