Catherine Quine who married Robert Cowley in 1764

Catherine Quine who married Robert Cowley 03 Jul 1764 Santan

This posting is just for information for researchers to help correct an error I have found on more than a dozen websites including the LDS where the Catherine Quine who married Robert Cowley is incorrectly shown as the daughter of John Quine and Margaret Crebbin of Santan

The Catherine that married Robert Cowley was the daughter of Thomas Quine and Alice Costean (Both father’s originate from the same family line but it was Thomas’s daughter who married Robert Cowley)

I recently obtained the parents marriage contract and a marriage contract for the couple in question dated 27th June 1764 drawn up by the Cowley and Quine parents.
[This was signed as
Thos Cowley his mark X
Alice Quine als Costean her mk X
Robt Cowley his mark X
Cathrine Quine her mark X]

Alice Costean born Dec 1710, was the daughter of Margaret Quirk and William Costean . She was heiress of Ballafort, Santon

In a Marriage contract in 1737 Thomas Quine and Alice Costean received all the Costean’s purchased Lands in Ballafurt.

After Thomas Quine’s death daughter Catherine married Robert Cowley

Catherine born 1742 received from her mother Alice in a marriage contract to Robert Cowley in 1764 a parcel of land in Ballafurt called Faifurt and the Creggin near Grenaugh harbour

The other Catherine Quine may have possibly married William Clark?
