Did you know that main city libraries have free access to Ancestry (in Britain at least) ? Also the Family History Centres of the Mormon Churches have free access to Ancestry, although the last time I tried this they had a problem with it, perhaps somebody else on this board knows if this is sorted out now.
The other free option of course, is to post a request on here, as there are always kind people happy to look things up for you.
Or the subscription at home costs about £10 a month for unlimited searches. You could have a frenzy of searching for 6 months and then cancel your subscription!
