In the 1841 there are 2 boys, William and John Ball aged 11 and 8, apparently living alone in Jurby, perhaps this is just the way I am reading it. However, the older boy, William , is recorded as born in England. The IGI gives a possible match as chr. 20 June 1830, St Nicholas, Liverpool, son of William Ball and Jane.
There is an earlier marriage at St Nicholas, Liverpool for William Ball and Jane Clayton, 3 November 1828. I think this could well be a corruption of Cleator or mistranscription - worth checking. Alternatively Jane could have married a Clayton and been widowed?
Good luck
