I am helping to research the history of British participation in the Olympic Games and have reached a dead end concerning the polo tournament in the 1900 Paris games.
Can anyone confirm or disprove that the Frederick Agnew Gill christened on the 9th July 1873 in Malew, Isle of Man , the son of John Frederick Gill (an "advocate in actual practice") and Eliza Agnew Gill is or is not the Captain Frederick Agnew Gill of Rugby Polo Club and later the 3rd Dragoons who guested for the Bagatelle Club of Paris when they won the silver medal at the turn of the last century.
I am a little sceptical but since I can't find another Frederick Agnew Gill anywhere.....
