Re: Henry Cubbon & Ann Quirk
In Response To: Re: Henry Cubbon & Ann Quirk ()

Hello Richard,

I have been trying to trace my gg grandfather Thomas Cubbon b. abt 1801 in Arbory and looked time and again at the possibliliy of him being the son of Henry Cubbon and Ann Quirk.
After posting yesterday I believe I eliminated them, as if it was the same Thomas he would have presumably have been residing on property bequethed to him by his parents and this doesn't seem to have been the case as "my" Thomas remained in Arbory as far as I can tell. (I should have listened to the nagging doubts that stopped me from posting earlier I guess)
The dates I have are also from the LDS, plus Henry and Ann's wills on Brian Lawson's site. In addition there is information in the Manx Notebook mentioning William in Cleveland and his sister Margaret who married John Corlett.
It could well be there is some more remote family connection through the Cubbon family of Arbory that may become apparent through more research. Apart from Arbory my father did mention family in Ramsay but I am at a loss for any further information there.
Good hunting,

Ann
