1. John Radcliff family

1850 Leroy census # 99: John Ratliffe 45 IOM; Catherine 30 IOM; Maria 17 Ohio.

Have not yet found any further information about this family, but they were next door to the family of Thomas Radcliff/Mary Kewish in the 1850 census.

2. Thomas Radcliff family

Thomas William Radcliff (William - BridgetLace) was baptized at KK Bride, April 20, 1805, and died at Leroy, September 16, 1886, age 81 yr. He married, in Geauga County, January 30, 1829, Mary Kewish Corlett. (Mary Kewish was the daughter of Charles and Jane (McNight) Kewish, baptized at Bride November 17, 1799. She was the widow of Thomas Corlett who died at sea, leaving her with a small child James Corlett, baptized at Bride October 5, 1823.)

Thomas and Mary Radcliff lived in Leroy.

Children of Mary Kewish and Thomas William Radcliff:

i. Thomas Radcliff was born June 12, 1829, and died April 15, 1912, age 62 yr (sic) 10 m 3d. Thomas Radcliff married first, Lucy A. Reader. Lucy Radcliff, wife of Thomas, died August 17, 1873, age 38 yr.

Thomas married second, Hattie L. _____. She was born in Cleveland, and died in Montville, February 27, 1923. Child: Essie Radcliff died February 2, 1879, daughter of Thomas and Hattie.

ii. Charles Radcliff was born February 6, 1830, and died November 20, 1908. He served in the 196th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Charles Radcliff married M. J. _____. Child: Charles, son of C. and M. J., died January 15, 1862, age 1 year.

iii. Mary Ann Radcliff was born in 1833. She married, June 6, 1852, Thomas Garrett, son of Thomas and Margaret (Kewish) Garrett. He was born February 11, 1827.

iv. Henry M. Radcliff was born January 15, 1835, and died August 17, 1914, husband of Elizabeth. He married, May 10, 1860, Elizabeth Crow. She was born in KK Bride, June 17, 1840, and died June 11, 1909. Henry and Elizabeth Radcliff lived in Leroy. Child: Eveleena Radcliff was born in 1855, and died November 14, 1879, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth.

vi. Norman William Radcliff was born in April 1840, and died April 25, 1903, “husband of Lydia A.” Lydia A. _____ was born April 8, 1849, and died September 12, 1925. Norman and Lydia Radcliff lived in Leroy. Children: Wallace Radcliff, born about 1866; Mary Radcliff, born about 1868; Minnie Radcliff, born about 1875; Hugh Radcliff, born about 1877.

vii. Sarah A. Radcliff was born in 1849.

3. William Radcliff family

William Radcliff was born in the Isle of Man, about 1803, and died (at Mentor?) 1858. He married, in Geauga County, April 26, 1828, Margaret Kelly. She was born in 1804, and died in 1888.

William and Margaret Radcliff lived in Mentor.
