It sounds as if the address is taken from a census. If this is so, it is ulikely that the number will correspond to any identifiable building. When there were several cottages in an area they were often enumerated as 1, 2, etc. as the enumerator made his rounds.
Again, if taken from a census, a careful study of the surrounding schedules would enable you to reconstruct the enumerators route.
