1851 has son Thomas a fisherman - however the dual trade of crofter/fisherman was quite common but if proto thomas was a farmer then he must have been a tennant as otherwise land would have been passed down .
I checked on Margery Rownon in wills - possible she was Thomas mother - will has gdau (niece xd thru) esther shimmin;dau molley rownon;son thomas executor;wittnesses margery cowley als higgin,margt harrison;
The marriage entry in Malew offers no clue except to confirm thomas was from Rushen - the two witnesses were parish wardens I think (their names crop up in several other marriages)
