the papers are on microfilm - those upto 1855 are indexed so should be possible to find article(s) (generally quite short at this period) - whether Musuem will search for you I have no idea - it can be a tedious process even knowing the issue - their costs have now doubled to 80p/printout from microfilm.
I don't think Manx papers of this period are in UK newspaper library at Colingdale (N London) tho some later and earlier copies are as these have been recently microfilmed
