My ancestor, according to the 1871 census for London, was born in the Isle of Man about 1816 but his father, William, and his grandfather, Henry, were living in Liverpool. Not only that, the IGI has his name as Cribbin, which is not correct. So I am still very confused. Have you checked with the IGI?

All the Crebbins in the IOM seem to be in the southern part of the island, mainly Rushin.
