There are Charles Steele's in the 1881 & 1901 both from the IoM of about the right age. The 1901 gives marown not maughold. Also most of the genuine IGI extracts have the Steeles in the south of the island. There does seem to be alot of inaccurate info so suggest you work your way back from the 1901 census and get copies of everything especially certificates.
