Even today, farmers (those that remain!) refer to their farms as Farm Name Plus Parish or area name, as part of the name, ie "Ballakelly, Santon", as I learned in my brief spell working in agriculture.

The meetings held once a month for the IOMFHS can be very interesting, and the membership of £9 for a family per year is good value, and for this you also get 4 magazines, to which you can contribute articles or photos.
