If you search manx notebook for the obituary of Arthur Henry Marsden and the 1894 Brown Directory you will find some history of James Henry Marsden.
I think Joseph Marsden married Louisa Marsden in 1835 at Manchester Cathedral -see IGI.
A number of their children including Joseph (1843)were born in Manchester but were christened together in Birmingham. In reverse, some of their children were born in Birmingham and christened in Manchester, Arthur Henry Marsden included.
Some of the family moved to the Isle of Man and started a number of enterprises including the Marsden Mineral Water Works- see Browns Directory.
A Joseph Marsden married Elizabeth Gawney (probably Gawn) at Blackburn R/O in 1870 and by 1881 they can be seen ,with their children, living in Woodbourne Road Douglas.
One son ,James Henry, married Margaret Selina Watterson in 1900 as indicated by Brian and Donna.
Some of the marriages of the earlier Marsdens can be found in IGI or Lancashire BMD.
