Re: LYNCHEY OR SIMILAR
In Response To: Re: LYNCHEY OR SIMILAR ()

Thank you Frances,

I have purchased Hampton Creer's book and have corresponded with him.

I sent details of the LYNCHEY's from the BDM's and convict records in OZZ and he is obtaining the court documents for me.

He sent me a report from a Manx newspaper of the time which I have subsequently found in a Family History newsletter of several years ago here.

The convict indent did not name the children who came with her although from BDM documents here along with convict records I have no doubt that my GG grandmother Mary Ann was one of them. I would like to have some official confirmation if I can.

There was a Sarah LYNCHY, daughter of Michael and Sarah nee Mullen baptised on the Iom in 1826 and when Sarah arrived in 1835 the indent stated that she was a widow. I am still trying to find when and were he died so that I can perhaps trace both of them back further.

Thank you for your help and interest.

Cheers

Peter
