Help clarifying birthplaces

Brian helped me enormously with the following recent look-up for my great (x3) grandparents John and Jane Killey:

1851, Jurby, district 3, schedule 6, Bretney
Ann Hutchin, head, widow, 73, labourer, Malew
John Killey, son in law, married, 39, agricultural labourer, Patrick
Jane, daughter, married, 37, Arbory
John, grand son, unmarried, 16, agricultural labourer, Jurby
William, grand son, unmarried, 14, scholar, Jurby
Ann, grand daughter, unmarried, 7, scholar, Jurby
Thomas, grand son unmarried, 3, Jurby

Could I ask Brian or another kind researcher to check again the birthplace given for John Killey in 1851 - Patrick. The reason I ask is that I have found what I am almost certain is the same family on the IOM 1861, 1871 and 1881 censuses and each time John gives his birthplace as Santon. The IGI has a John Killey born in Santon in 1810 and this date would coincide very well with my census data.

Also, I believe that Jane's birthplace is correct as Arbory. The IGI has a Jane Hutchin (Hudgin) born in Arbory in 1813 and this date would again coincide well with my subsequent census data. However, in the 1861-1881 censuses she gives her birthplace consistently as Kirk Rushen.

Can fellow readers offer any advice, ie is it plausible that the husband could have given the 'wrong' birthplace in 1841 but have subsequently stated the 'right' one, while the wife has given the 'right' birthplace in 1841 and the 'incorrect' one later? I know Rushen and Arbory are located next to one another.

I would appreciate the benefit of your experience and any thoughts. Thanks in advance for your kind help.
