Thanks Sue - There is a tomb in Braddan churchyard for this Bridson family and although the inscriptions are largely obscured now, they were apparently copied in the nineteenth century (but not on the 1868 JR Oliver list) and give eleven names including: "also the above named Paul Bridson of Douglas Esqr who departed this life the 4th of August 1820 aged 53 years, leaving family to lament the loss of a kind Father and their affectionate friend". So if this Paul was buried on 9th. August he certainly wasn't in Australia on the 4th. His will and that of his wife Mary are on Brian Lawson's site. Michael
