I too found the same info and I have not been able to confirm it personally but knowing where I got it from the source has always been very reliable. However, On Brian Lawsons site in the burial records there is an entry for Paul Bridson buried at Bradan 9 Aug 1820 age 52yr which would tie in with our Paul Bridson, by the way as far as I can tell he is my 4X great uncle. Perhaps Paul did die in Australia and then his body was brought home? Do you know what he was doing in Australia, was he there for the gold?
I am still not a hundred percent sure about my findings but having been back to the Island last Christmas again and spending hours in the registry and museum and having had a cousin also doing hours of work we are 99% sure that we are on the correct path. Hope this helps!
